1. Controller

The controller under the GDPR for this app is the respective operator of the “Cold Water Diary” app. For privacy questions, please contact the app operator by email.

2. Data we collect

We collect and store the following personal data:

• Account data: email address and name during registration
• Session data: date, duration, water temperature and optional notes for your ice bath and cold shower sessions
• Payment data: subscription status. Credit card data is not stored; payments are processed through Stripe.

3. Purpose of processing

We use your data only to provide and operate app features, manage your account and subscription, display personalized progress statistics and improve the app in aggregated and anonymized form.

4. Legal basis

Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for app usage and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR for optional features. Payment data is processed under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

5. Data sharing with third parties

Your data is not sold. Service providers used include Stripe Inc. for payment processing and Base44 for infrastructure, database hosting and technical app delivery.

6. Retention period

Your data is stored as long as your account is active. After account deletion, personal data is deleted within 30 days unless legal retention obligations apply.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have rights to access, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, objection and complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

8. Data security

All data is transmitted securely using HTTPS/TLS. Access to your data is limited to your user account and protected by password.

9. Technical log data

For security and error diagnosis, technical log data such as IP address, timestamps, device and browser information and accessed functions may be processed and deleted after an appropriate period.

10. Cookies and local storage

The app uses localStorage only for technically necessary settings. No tracking cookies are used.

11. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this privacy policy when necessary. The current version is available in the app.
